Add Internal Comments to a Customer Order

Add internal notes visible only to staff on a Customer Order, including on closed orders.

Internal Comments let you record staff-facing notes directly on a Customer Order. Comments are visible to all users but can only be edited or deleted by the user who posted them.

Steps

1. Open the Customer Order and find the Add to this Order section. Click Internal Comments to expand it.

2. An Internal Comments section opens on the Customer Order. Type your note in the Your comment field, then click Post to save it.

3. Once posted, the comment appears in the Internal Comments section. To edit or delete your own comment, click the pencil icon to edit or the trash icon to delete.

Further Information

Keep the following in mind when using Internal Comments on Customer Orders:

  • The most recently posted Internal Comment appears at the top of the Internal Comments section.

  • Internal Comments posted by all users are visible to all users in the section.

  • You can edit or delete only your own Internal Comments. You cannot edit or delete comments posted by another user.

  • Each individual Internal Comment can be up to 255 characters.

  • You can add Internal Comments even after a Customer Order is closed.

  • In any Advanced Search relevant to Customer Orders, you can add a Notes column to the search results. This column displays the most recently posted Internal Comment for each Customer Order.
