What's New
This release introduces several new features including the ability to pause job clocking, print and email actions on customer invoice history, new user permission controls for Make/Model/Submodel creation, editable costs on Vendor Orders, Manufacturer Part number in Vendor Order (VO) exports, mandatory Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and the completed Kenect SMS integration.
Pause Job Clocking
Technicians can now pause their job clocking sessions without fully clocking off a job. Paused time is factored into the actual hours logged on a job and the related accounting entries. All technician hour reporting also includes paused time.
This feature is controlled by a new toggle in Settings & Controls > Shop Settings called Allow pause of job clocking. The toggle is disabled by default. For more information, see System Settings > Settings and Controls (no longer available) under Shop Settings - Allow pause of job clocking.
Customer Record — Invoice History Update
The Invoice History section of a Customer Record now includes Print and Email actions. Navigate to the relevant Customer Record, open the Invoice History section, and select Print or Email as needed.
Make/Model/Submodel User Permission Control
A new user permission restricts users from creating Makes, Models, or Submodels on the fly. This addresses situations where users create new entries without first checking whether the Make, Model, or Submodel already exists.
The permission is found in the Create / Modify permission grouping and is enabled for all users by default. Dealerships experiencing duplicate entry issues can disable the permission for specific users as needed. For more information, see User Permissions in Blackpurl Reference.
Parts Vendor Orders — Ability to Edit Costs
The cost field on unsubmitted Vendor Orders is now editable. Costs load automatically from the Part Record, but dealerships can now update individual line item costs on a Vendor Order before submission if required.
The cost variance warning will still trigger based on your Blackpurl settings. For more information, see the Cost Variance Warning section in Part Cost Control Explained.
Vendor Order Export Format — Manufacturer Part Number
The Manufacturer Part number field from a Part Record can now be included as a column in VO export formats. For more information, see Vendor Order Export Formats: Assign and Create Custom Formats.
Disabling Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on a User
MFA is now mandatory. Once MFA has been enabled for a user, the option to disable it for that user has been removed. Dealerships can no longer turn off MFA for individual users.
Kenect Integration — SMS Texting (USA and Canada Only)
Beta testing for the Kenect SMS integration is complete and the integration is now live. This service allows dealerships to send and receive text messages through Blackpurl and is available to dealerships in the USA and Canada only. To sign up, see How to Send and Receive Text Messages (SMS) through Blackpurl (no longer available).
What's Improved
This release includes the following updates and bug fixes:
Updated — The Invoice Summary report so that part, labor, and sublet deal options are no longer listed in their own columns. These values are now included in the Unit Total column, preventing double-counting when both a deal and deal service appear in the same report.
Resolved — An issue where the Unit ID field would get changed to a Salesforce record identifier in a specific scenario.
Resolved — An issue that caused fee line items to lose their price when line items are moved.
Resolved — An issue that prevented all defined tax rates from being listed in the Assign Tax Rates screen.
Resolved — An issue where the last modified dates on service jobs were incorrectly updated when a new release was deployed.
Resolved — An issue that caused the Create Customer modal window to take too long to load.
Resolved — An intermittent issue that caused a customer record to appear twice in global search results.
Resolved — An accounting sync issue triggered when a user tried to finalize a vendor credit with a negative total. Vendor credits of this type will now correctly generate a vendor bill in accounting.
Resolved — An issue where an exact part number match did not always appear as the first result when multiple part records contained the same exact match.
Resolved — An intermittent issue that caused an error when selecting columns to add to a report.
Resolved — An issue that caused vendor credits to not appear on the tax detail report.
Resolved — An issue that caused the Deal Option Clearing GL to not be used properly when reopening and subsequently re-invoicing a deal invoice.
Updated — Adjusted org reconciliation tracking to properly handle the Deductible Clearing GL when it is an asset account.
Updated — Added a new "Credits Pending" value to vendor returns and incorporated it into org reconciliation tracking for AP inventory accrual.
Updated — Created a batch process to delete sync log records related to ElasticSearch, which is no longer in use.
Resolved — An issue where an email notification was not sent when a vendor invoice variance journal entry failed.
Resolved — An issue where the last modified date was incorrectly updated for internal comments on a customer order.
Resolved — An error that occurred when clicking Other Tasks for job clocking.
Resolved — A scenario where a vendor return invoice was not synced when a non-taxable negative fee was added to a Vendor Return credit.
Updated — Memo descriptions for both COIP and CODN journal entries.
Resolved — An issue that occurred when selecting a file in the Price File Import Tool.
