This article will explain what DKIM is / what you need to do at the Dealership / why it is important so that you can continue to email out of Blackpurl.
What’s this about?
Blackpurl’s platform provider, Salesforce, is introducing a new email security requirement. To continue sending emails from Blackpurl, all customers must verify their email domain using DKIM authentication.
What is DKIM and why does it matter?
DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) is a standard security method that verifies emails sent from your domain are legitimate.
Once set up, it will:
Help prevent fraud and phishing attempts
Improve email deliverability (fewer emails marked as spam)
Ensure your customers receive important communications like invoices, quotes, and work orders
Important Deadline
April 27, 2026
If DKIM is not set up by this date:
You will no longer be able to send emails from Blackpurl
This includes invoices, quotes, work orders, and all customer communications
Do you need to take action?
✅ If you’ve already completed the setup and confirmed with us that your DKIM keys are active, you’re all set—no further action is needed.
❌ If your email uses a common domain provider (e.g., gmail.com, outlook.com, yahoo.com, att.net, telus.net), you do not need to set this up.
⚠️ If you use your own domain (e.g., yourdealership.com), you must complete this setup
What you need to do
You (or your IT/web provider) need to add two DNS records to your domain settings.
Steps
1. Request your DNS records from Blackpurl
Contact Blackpurl at product@blackpurl.com
We will provide the two DNS (CNAME) records specific to your domain
2. Access your domain provider
(e.g., GoDaddy, Google Domains, etc.)
3. Go to DNS settings
4. Add the two CNAME records
Use the values provided by Blackpurl
Enter:
Type: CNAME
Name/Host: (provided by us)
Value/Points to: (provided by us)
5. Save changes
Changes usually take 10–60 minutes, but can take up to 24 hours
6. Notify Blackpurl Product by replying to their email
We will verify and complete the setup for you

don’t have access
