What's New in Blackpurl — Release Notes

A summary of the latest new features, improvements, and bug fixes released in Blackpurl.

This release introduces several new features across deal management, reporting, and accounting integration, along with a range of bug fixes and performance improvements.

What's New

Modify Deal After Options / Units Have Been Committed

Blackpurl has removed several Customer Order restrictions to make it easier to modify Unit Deals after units and options have already been committed. The following changes are now available:

  • Add additional units to a deal even if units and options have already been committed

  • Swap out units even if the unit and options have already been committed

  • Add additional options in the Unit Deal option section even if options have already been committed

  • Select which units the dealership wants to commit options for when there are multiple units on a Unit Deal

  • See whether part or labor option line items on Unit Deals have been committed or not

For further information, see Modify a Customer Order Unit Deal.

Notes for Customer in Unit Deal Section

A new Notes for customer section has been added to Customer Order > Unit Deal. Any notes entered in this section will print on all deal documents and the deal invoice.

New Report — Unit Sales Tracker

The Unit Sales Tracker is a new report focused on deal units and when a deal becomes a confirmed sale. A deal is classified as a confirmed sale when either a deal deposit is taken on the Customer Order or the deal status progresses from Quote to In Progress.

The report covers all unit types — Inventory, On Order, Temporary, Consignment, and Trade-ins. By default it reports on units from deals confirmed in the last 7 days, but the parameters can be adjusted to suit your reporting needs. The primary purpose is to make it easier to track which deals have been firmed up during a given period of time.

All existing deals in Blackpurl will be assigned a Confirmed Sale Date based on the following logic, in order:

  1. If a Delivery Date has been set on the deal, that date becomes the Confirmed Sale Date.

  2. If the deal status is Quotation and the Customer Order contains no deal deposits, the Confirmed Sale Date is left blank.

  3. If the Customer Order contains at least one deal deposit, the Confirmed Sale Date is set to the payment date of the earliest deal deposit.

  4. If the deal has been invoiced, the Confirmed Sale Date is set to the date the deal was invoiced.

  5. Otherwise, the Confirmed Sale Date is set to the Date Last Modified of the deal.

For further information, see Reporting - Unit Sales Tracker (no longer available).

Picklist Importing in Vendor Orders

All picklist formats available in Customer Order are now also available to import into a Vendor Order (VO). For further information, see Print, Email, Export, and Import a Vendor Order.

Accounting Integration — Additional Restrictions on General Ledger Account Selection

Additional restrictions have been implemented in the Accounting Integration setup screens when selecting General Ledger (GL) accounts. These restrictions are designed to prevent sync issues and guide users toward valid account selections.

The restrictions apply as follows:

  • Control Accounts — A GL account cannot be selected if it has already been assigned to any other Control Account, any Undeposited Funds account, or any category.

  • Undeposited Funds Accounts — A GL account cannot be selected if it has already been assigned to any other Control Account or any category.

  • Category Accounts — A GL account cannot be selected if it has already been assigned to any Control Account or any Undeposited Funds account.

What's Improved

The following issues have been resolved and improvements made in this release:

  • Website Product Management (WPM) fixes:

    • Resolved an issue where available quantity was not updating correctly in Shopify.

    • Parts sold on the website with zero quantity available now create a Required item on the relevant Customer Order in Blackpurl.

    • Resolved an issue with products remaining in an Error status.

    • Resolved an issue where the cancel action in the WPM manage option window was not behaving properly.

  • Resolved an issue where incorrect General Ledger accounts were being selected for deal products when generating accounting entries.

  • Resolved an issue that broke the connection between a deal part and a vendor order when a part was moved from a deal service to deal merchandise by changing the Install toggle.

  • Resolved an issue that caused an unexpected error message when viewing a history order unit from the unit order section.

  • Resolved minor User Interface (UI) issues in the Unit Order screen and Customer Order checkout.

  • Improved performance when adding a deposit onto a Customer Order.

  • Released Mapped Forms for specific dealerships — the relevant dealerships will be contacted directly.

  • Resolved an issue where kit part numbers were not following the setting for hiding part numbers.

  • Resolved an accounting entry issue related to stamp duty when the overall deal invoice total was less than zero.

  • Resolved an occasional issue encountered when importing the INTEXT.CSV file for specific dealerships.

  • Resolved an issue with deals created from DP360 leads when the sale price in DP360 was zero. In this scenario, the deal will now use the pre-existing pricing from the Unit Record in Blackpurl.

  • Resolved an issue where linked fees were not being added to Customer Orders created from Shopify.

  • Australian dealership invoice document corrections:

    • "Deductible" has been renamed to "Excess".

    • Provider information now includes the ABN number for the vendor, sourced from the Vendor Tax ID field on the Vendor Record.

  • Resolved an issue with the invoice preview for quote Customer Orders containing multiple customer pay service jobs. These customer pay jobs now appear on a single invoice preview document.

  • Corrected a typo in the homepage copyright wording.

  • Resolved two issues with the AR Credit payment method button where: (a) the value shown inside the button did not match the credit memos listed in the credit selection dropdown, and (b) the value was not properly formatted as a dollar amount.
