What's New
Unit Product Types and Unit Data Fields
Unit Product Types and Unit Data Fields let your dealership define custom product categories — such as Trailers or RVs — and attach specific data fields to each type, such as weight or length. Once a Unit Product Type is assigned to a unit record, those data fields become available to fill out on that unit. You can also configure which Unit Data Fields appear on specific documents, such as Service Documents.
For full details, see Overview - System Settings > Settings & Controls (no longer available) (look for the Unit Product Types / Unit Data Fields section) or the dedicated article Unit Product Types and Unit Data Fields.
If your dealership uses FTP or forms that rely on existing miscellaneous data fields and you want to move to Unit Data Fields, a data conversion will be required.
QR Codes on Service Job Documentation
Your dealership can now display a QR code on Service Job documents instead of a barcode. Scanning the QR code opens the relevant customer order directly in Blackpurl.
A System Setting must be enabled to activate this feature. For instructions, see Customer Service Job Documents.
Stamp Duty Calculator (Australia only)
Australian dealerships can now configure Stamp Duty rates directly in Blackpurl. Select the rates your dealership uses, set a default, and have Stamp Duty automatically charged on unit deals. You can also adjust the rate and apply it to the recommended retail price where needed.
For full details, see System Settings > Settings and Control - Stamp Duty (Australia only) (no longer available).
Taxes by State Control (USA only)
US dealerships can now specify which states they collect and remit sales taxes for, ensuring accurate tax calculations by state. For full details, see the Automatic Tax Rate Controls section of USA - Taxation including Reporting / Setup / Changing Tax on Customer Orders (no longer available).
For a quick overview of where to find this setting:
1. Navigate to Other Tools > Tax Activity and Settings, then select the Settings tab.
2. Scroll down to the Automatic Tax Rate Controls section and locate States which you collect & remit sales taxes for.
If you need to discuss your dealership's tax setup, contact Blackpurl Support to arrange a meeting.
Grouped Taxes on Documents
Tax grouping is now managed within Tax Settings, resolving display issues that previously appeared on deal documents. For full details, review the Automatic Tax Rate Controls section in the taxation article for your region:
USA - Taxation including Reporting / Setup / Changing Tax on Customer Orders (no longer available)
Canada - Taxation including Reporting / Setup / Changing Tax on Customer Orders (no longer available)
New Zealand / Australia - Taxation (no longer available)
For a quick overview of where to find the grouping settings:
1. Navigate to Other Tools > Tax Activity and Settings, then select General Settings.
2. Look for the two toggles related to grouping in that section.
If you need to discuss your dealership's tax setup, contact Blackpurl Support to arrange a meeting.
Turn 14 Automated Price Files
Dealerships that use Turn 14 as a vendor can now configure Blackpurl to automatically download and import Turn 14 price files — no manual steps required. For setup instructions, see Turn 14 Automated Price Files — Setup and How It Works.
