This article summarises the new features and improvements included in this Blackpurl release, covering salesperson assignment, checkout visibility changes, bug fixes, and more.
What's New
Salesperson on Parts & Accessories / Service or Repair Jobs
Salesperson fields are now available on Parts & Accessories and Service or Repair Jobs. Key details:
You can assign multiple salespersons to these transactions, just as you can on Unit Deals.
Unlike Unit Deals, you cannot indicate a commission amount on these transaction types.
The salesperson field defaults to the salesperson linked to the login user who created the transaction.
Invoice reporting now correctly reflects all assigned salespersons.
For further information, see Setup Customer Order - Salesperson (no longer available).
Internal Customer Order Documents — Auto-Printing Removed
Internal invoices such as those generated when finalising Deal Service or Deal Merch will no longer automatically open a PDF in a new browser tab. These internal invoices are not customer-facing documents, so the auto-generate PDF function has been removed. You can still print these invoices from the Invoice History section of the relevant Customer Order.
Notes for Customer Section Now Available on Parts & Accessories
The Notes for Customer section was previously available on Customer Order Unit Deals and Service Jobs. It is now also available on the Parts & Accessories section. Any text entered in the Notes for Customer section will appear on the relevant customer-facing documents, such as the Parts Invoice.
Unit VINs Will Now Be Uppercase
Unit VINs are now automatically converted to uppercase when saved, regardless of how they were entered by the user.
Customer Order Checkout — Change Due Visibility
When finalising a checkout where a Change Due amount applies, that amount is now visible in the print modal window. This allows staff to see the change due at the point of printing, which may also trigger a cash drawer to open.
Customer Order Attachments — Increased Size Limit
The maximum file size for PDF attachments on Customer Orders has been increased to 25MB.
For further information, see Forms in Customer Orders: Upload, Link, and Attach.
Stock Unit Records — Service Job History Status Column
When viewing the service job history for a unit, a new status column now shows whether each job is open, invoiced, or in another state. You no longer need to open each job individually to determine its status.
Payroll Clocking / Job Clocking — Automatic Midnight Clock-Out
A scheduled process now runs at midnight each day to automatically clock out any active payroll clocking and job clocking entries. For example:
If a technician job-clocked into a job at 4:00 PM but left at 5:30 PM without clocking out, they will be automatically clocked out at midnight.
If a technician payroll-clocked in but forgot to clock out before leaving, they will be automatically clocked out at midnight.
