The Blackpurl Header is the blue navigation bar that appears at the top of every screen in Blackpurl. It gives you access to all workspaces, tools, search, notifications, and help from anywhere in the system.
Header Sections
The Blackpurl Header contains the following controls, from left to right:
Blackpurl logo (lightning bolt) — Click the logo at any time to return to the Blackpurl Homepage. For more information, see Blackpurl Homepage Overview and Customization.
Sell — Click Sell to start processing a Customer Order for Parts & Accessories, start a Service or Repair Job, sell a unit, or start an Internal Service. For more information, see Types of Customer Orders / Basic Navigation of Customer Order Screen (no longer available).
Your Home — Click Your Home to return to your Blackpurl Homepage. For more information, see Blackpurl Homepage Overview and Customization.
Sales — Click Sales to open the Sales workspace, where you manage all unit sales-related activity.
Parts — Click Parts to open the Parts workspace, where you manage parts sales, inventory, and ordering.
Service — Click Service to open the Service workspace, where you manage service and repair jobs.
Ordering — Click Ordering to open the Ordering workspace, where you manage parts and unit ordering.
Admin — Click Admin to open the Admin workspace, where you manage customers, vendors, labor codes, fees, and more.
Reporting — Click Reporting to access Reports or the Workshop Dashboard.
Tools — Click Tools to access sections such as Job Clocking and Cash Reconciliation.
+ New — Click + New to quickly add a New Customer, New Vendor, New Part, New Labor Code, New Kit, or New Fee.
Search field — Click into the search field to access Global Search and search across Blackpurl. For more information, see Blackpurl Global Search (no longer available).
Notifications — Click the notifications icon to view any notifications waiting for you.
Help — Click the help icon to go directly to the Blackpurl Knowledge Base, where you can access help articles and videos.
Profile icon — Click your profile icon to access your account settings. This icon displays differently for each user.
Sales Workspace
The Sales workspace is where you manage all unit sales activity, including active deals, quotes, inventory, and trade-ins. Click Sales in the header to open it.
The following tabs are available in the Sales workspace:
Tab | What it does |
Summary | Provides an overall summary page showing Active Deals, Deals by Sales Rep, and similar statistics. |
Deals | Lists all active unit deals in Blackpurl and lets you create a new Unit Deal. |
Quotes | Lists all quoted unit deals and lets you create a new Unit Deal or Quote. |
Inventory | Lists all stocked units with their statuses (active, reserved, etc.) and types (Consignment, New, Used, etc.), and lets you create a new Unit Deal. |
Pending Trade-ins | Lists all pending trade-in Customer Orders. |
On Order | Lists all units currently on order and lets you sell a unit directly from this list. |
Deal Service | Lists all Deal Services currently in play. |
Once you are in a tab, you have the following options to work with the list:
Click into the Search List field and type what you are looking for — for example, an order number such as CO-0000003 or a customer name.
Click + New Deal to start a new Customer Order Unit Deal.
Click Filter to narrow down the results.
Click the three-dot menu (⋯) to access options such as View Report, Print List, and Export List.
Parts Workspace
The Parts workspace is where you manage parts sales, inventory, special orders, kits, and price files. Click Parts in the header to open it.
The following tabs are available in the Parts workspace:
Tab | What it does |
Summary | Provides a summary of Active Sales and related activity. |
Sales | Lists all active Customer Orders in Blackpurl and lets you create a new Customer Order for Parts. |
Quotes | Lists all quotations and lets you create a new Customer Order for Parts. |
Special Orders | Lists all Special Order Customer Orders currently in play. |
Inventory | Lets you list all inventory, search inventory, or list inventory that has no assigned locations. |
Kits | Lists all Kits available in the system. |
To Pull | Lists parts and their associated Customer Orders that need to be pulled from stock. |
Part Counting | Lists all part counts and their statuses, and lets you create a new part count. |
Price Files | Shows all processed price files and their statuses, and lets you manually import a price file. |
Once you are in a tab, you have the following options to work with the list:
Click into the Search List field and type what you are looking for — for example, an order number such as CO-0000003 or a customer name.
Click + New Sale to start a new Customer Order Part Sale.
Click Filter to narrow down the results.
Click the three-dot menu (⋯) to access options such as View Report, Print List, and Export List.
Service Workspace
The Service workspace is where you manage all service and repair jobs, including customer jobs, warranty claims, internal jobs, and scheduling. Click Service in the header to open it.
The following tabs are available in the Service workspace:
Tab | What it does |
Summary | Provides a summary of what is happening in Service, including Active Service Jobs and Active Technicians. |
Customer Jobs | Lists all active Customer Order service jobs and lets you create a new Service Job. |
Claim Jobs | Lists all active third-party service jobs (Warranty, Insurance, etc.) and lets you create a new Service Job. |
Internal Jobs | Lists all active Internal Service Jobs (for stocked units) and lets you create a new Internal Service Job. |
Estimates | Lists Service Jobs with estimates and lets you create a new Service Job. |
Job Schedule | Provides access to the Scheduler. |
Job Clocking | Provides access to Job Clocking. Job Clocking can also be accessed through the Tools menu. |
Special Orders | Lists Service Jobs that have Special Orders in play. |
Sublets | Lists Service Jobs that have sublets attached. |
Kits | Lists Kits that can be used in Service Jobs. |
Once you are in a tab, you have the following options to work with the list:
Click into the Search List field and type what you are looking for — for example, an order number such as CO-0000003 or a customer name.
Click + New Job to start a new Service Job.
Click Filter to narrow down the results.
Click the three-dot menu (⋯) to access options such as View Report, Print List, and Export List.
Ordering Workspace
The Ordering workspace is where you manage all ordering activity for both parts and units, including vendor orders, receiving, invoicing, and returns. Click Ordering in the header to open it.
The following tabs are available in the Ordering workspace:
Tab | What it does |
Summary | Provides a summary of what is happening in Ordering for Parts. |
Parts Needed | Lists all parts needed to satisfy Customer Orders or auto reorders, and lets you place an order. |
Vendor Orders | Lists all active Parts Orders and lets you place a new order. |
Vendor Receiving | Lists all active Vendor Receiving entries and lets you create a new Vendor Receiving. |
Vendor Invoicing | Lists all Vendor Invoices and lets you create a new Vendor Invoice. |
Parts Returns | Lists all Parts Returns and lets you create a new Parts Return or assign a Vendor Credit. |
Unit Needed | Lists units needed to satisfy Customer Order unit deals, and lets you create an order on the relevant line item. |
Units Ordered | Lists units that have been ordered, lets you order additional units, and lets you receive units. |
Unit Receiving | Lists units that have been received. |
Once you are in a tab, you have the following options to work with the list:
Click into the Search List field and type what you are looking for — for example, a specific unit or order number.
Click Filter to narrow down the results.
Click the three-dot menu (⋯) to access options such as View Report, Print List, and Export List.
Admin Workspace
The Admin workspace is where you manage customers, vendors, labor codes, fees, cash reconciliation, and other administrative functions. Click Admin in the header to open it.
The following tabs are available in the Admin workspace:
Tab | What it does |
Summary | Provides a summary of Admin items and activity. |
Cash Reconciliation | One way to access Cash Reconciliation. You can also access it through Tools > Cash Reconciliation. |
Fusion Reporting | Available for Australian dealerships. Lets dealerships run their Fusion Report. |
Tax Activity | Provides access to the Tax Activity section. |
Fees | Lists all available Fees and lets you create a new Fee. |
Labor Codes | Lists all available Labor Codes and lets you create a new Labor Code. |
Payroll Clocking | Provides access to Payroll Clocking, including clocking on and off and managing records. |
Vendors | Lists all available Vendors and lets you create a new Vendor. |
Customers | Lists all customers and lets you create a new Customer. |
Users | Takes you through to System Settings > Users. |
Reporting
Click Reporting in the header to choose between two options: Reports or Workshop Dashboard. Selecting either option takes you directly to that area of Blackpurl.
Tools
Click Tools in the header to access additional sections of Blackpurl, including Job Clocking and Cash Reconciliation.

Click + New in the header for a quick option to add any of the following:
New Customer
New Vendor
New Part
New Labor Code
New Kit
New Fee
Global Search
Click into the search field in the header to access Global Search, which lets you search across Blackpurl for customers, orders, units, and more. For more information, see Blackpurl Global Search (no longer available).
Notifications
Click the notifications icon in the header to view any notifications waiting for you.
Help
Click the help icon in the header to go directly to the Blackpurl Knowledge Base, where you can access help articles and videos.
