Blackpurl Workspaces: What's New and What to Expect

Learn what the Workspaces update means for your Blackpurl experience, why it was built, and what's coming next.

Introducing Workspaces in Blackpurl

Workspaces is a major update to how you navigate and use Blackpurl every day. It's the foundation of Blackpurl 2 — a more intuitive, mobile-friendly experience built directly from user feedback — and it changes how the platform is organized without removing any of the capabilities you rely on.

Why Workspaces Was Built

As Blackpurl grew, the interface became more complex. Users reported that things felt cluttered, required too many clicks, and weren't personalized to each role. Workspaces addresses that directly:

  • Role-specific design: Each department has a focused workspace built around how that team actually works.

  • Less clutter, more clarity: You see only what's relevant to your role — no more navigating the whole system to complete one task.

  • Built for mobile: Workspaces are responsive, making Blackpurl easier to use on the go.

  • Faster load times: Performance improvements get you to what matters, faster.

What's Changing and What's Not

All the same capabilities are still there — parts, service, sales, customer orders — but they're now organized by department into dedicated Workspaces. Here's what's different:

  • The homepage is now customizable, giving you a personalized starting point for your day.

  • Navigation is simplified with a fresh layout — the path to each function is clearer, but nothing has been removed.

  • During the initial launch window, you can switch back and forth between the new Workspaces experience and the classic view while you get familiar with the changes.

Why Now

Workspaces is Phase One of the Blackpurl 2 initiative — not a cosmetic update, but the beginning of a product evolution. The goals behind Blackpurl 2 are:

  • A platform that scales better with your business.

  • A user interface that's more intuitive for new users and less frustrating for experienced ones.

  • A structure that allows new tools to be introduced in logical places without adding confusion.

Workspaces was built with real user input, gathered through months of calls, testing, and iteration.

What Happens Next

  • When Blackpurl 2 is released, you'll be switched over automatically. You can toggle back to the Classic view at any time using the user icon at the top of the screen.

  • During the initial launch window, use the feedback widget to share what's working and what could be better — the team is actively collecting feedback throughout this period.

  • Later this year, the Classic view will be sunset and Workspaces will become the standard experience.
