Unit deal trade-in's are automatically stocked in when the unit deal is finalized. But sometimes you want to sell the trade-in to another customer without finalizing the deal that is bringing it into inventory.
To do this, navigate to the trade-in on the unit deal and select the actions icon. Here you will find a "Stock-in Customer Unit" action.
When you select this action, you will be provided with a confirmation screen which details what will happen and the restrictions that will be placed on the customer order if you proceed.
When you Confirm to continue, the trade will be stocked in and assigned a stock number. You can now sell this traded in unit on another deal.
Accounting Integration — Early Stock-In
If your account uses Accounting Integration, confirm that a Stocked Trade Clearing GL is configured in System Settings > Accounting Integration > Control Account before using this feature. Without this account configured, the early stock-in will not work correctly.
When you stock in a trade-in unit early, Blackpurl creates a single journal entry:
Debit: Unit Inventory GL
Credit: BP Deal Trade Clearing GL
Amount: The Actual Cash Value (ACV) of the trade-in unit
When the original Unit Deal is finalized, the Deal Trade Clearing GL entry clears automatically.
