Blackpurl supports searching for parts and units from multiple locations — including the global header search and directly within customer orders. This article covers what information the search results display and how submodel searching works for units.
Searching for Parts
Part search results in Blackpurl display the quantity available, price, on-order quantity for stock, vendor, and location (if entered on the Part Record). You can search for parts from the global header or from within a customer order.
Global Part Search
Use the global search in the Blackpurl header to look up a part by number. The results show the price, on-order quantity for stock, vendor, and location for each matching part.
Customer Orders — Search to Add
From the Parts & Accessories section of a customer order, searching by part number returns all matching results with the same detail: price, on-order quantity for stock, vendor, and location.
Searching for Units — Make, Model, and Submodel
Blackpurl allows you to search for units not only by make and model, but also by submodel. This applies to both the global unit inventory search and the unit search within customer orders.
Global Unit Inventory Search
Use the global search in the Blackpurl header to search for units by submodel. For example, searching for the submodel 4 Door returns all units in inventory that match that submodel.
Customer Orders — Search to Add
From the Unit Deal section of a customer order, you can search for units by submodel in the same way. Searching for 4 Door returns all matching units available to add to the deal.
