Blackpurl can check real-time part availability at the Cassons warehouse using an API (Application Programming Interface) connection. Once set up, you can check stock levels from either the Part Record or from a Customer Order without leaving Blackpurl.
Before You Start
Two prerequisites must be in place before this feature can be activated.
Step 1: Request API Access from Cassons
Your dealership must contact Cassons to request API access. You can do this by contacting your Cassons account manager or emailing [email protected]. If your request is approved, Cassons will reply with an API key. This key is private, confidential, and specific to your dealership.
Step 2: Send Your API Key to Blackpurl Support
Once you have your API key, email it along with your setup request to Blackpurl Support at [email protected]. Blackpurl Support will configure the API connection in the back end for your dealership and notify you when setup is complete.
Step 3: Confirm Your Cassons Vendor and Parts Are in Blackpurl
Your dealership must already have the vendor Cassons set up in Blackpurl, along with all relevant Cassons part records, before this feature will work.
How It Works
Once setup is complete, you can check Cassons warehouse availability in two ways.
Option 1: From the Part Record
On any Cassons part record, an availability icon appears that lets you check stock directly from that screen.
1. Open the Part Record for a Cassons part.
2. Click the availability icon on the part record.
Blackpurl sends an API call to Cassons and retrieves whether the part is in stock at the Cassons warehouse, including the available quantity. The result is displayed in a Cassons Availability dialog.
Option 2: From a Customer Order
You can also check availability after adding a Cassons part to a Customer Order, without leaving the order screen.
1. Add the Cassons part to a Customer Order.
2. Click the availability icon next to the part line.
Blackpurl sends an API call to Cassons and returns the current stock level and quantity at the Cassons warehouse. The result appears in a Cassons Availability dialog on the order screen.
