Delete or Move Assigned Service Appointments

How to delete a scheduled appointment from the Scheduler, either with or without also deleting the linked Customer Order Service Job.

When a customer cancels or needs to reschedule, you may need to delete an appointment from the Scheduler — sometimes along with the linked Customer Order > Service Job, and sometimes while keeping the Service Job open. This article covers both scenarios.

Scenario 1: Delete Both the Appointment and the Service Job

Use this scenario when a customer has cancelled altogether and you need to remove both the assigned appointment from the Scheduler and the linked Customer Order > Service Job.

In this example, a Service Job already has an appointment assigned, but the customer no longer wants the service. Both the appointment and the Service Job need to be deleted.

1. Open the relevant Service Job from the Customer Order.

2. Remove all line items from the Service Job. The delete action will not appear until all labor, parts, and job items have been cleared from the Service Job.

3. Click the delete action. You will be advised that the Service Job is linked to an appointment and asked to confirm the deletion.

4. Click Confirm to proceed with the deletion.

Result: The Service Job is deleted and the assigned appointment is also removed from the Scheduler.

Scenario 2: Delete the Appointment but Keep the Service Job Open

Use this scenario when a customer needs to reschedule to an unknown date and time. The appointment is removed from the Scheduler, but the Customer Order > Service Job stays open so it can be rescheduled later.

In this example, a customer has an appointment attached to their Customer Order > Service Job but has called to say they cannot make it. They want the Service Job kept open, but the appointment needs to be removed from the Scheduler.

1. Navigate to the relevant appointment, either through the Scheduler or through the Customer Order > Service Job.

2. Click the Delete Appointment button.

3. You will be advised that the appointment is linked to a Service Job and asked to confirm the deletion.

4. Click Confirm to proceed.

Result: The appointment is deleted and will no longer appear in the Scheduler or on the Customer Order > Service Job. The Customer Order > Service Job itself remains intact and is not deleted.
