Set Up Ecrypt Credit Card Processing Integration

Learn how to set up Ecrypt (formerly Preferred Payments) credit card processing integration with Blackpurl in the USA and Canada.

Ecrypt (formerly known as Preferred Payments) is the third-party partner Blackpurl uses for credit card processing integration in the USA and Canada. This article explains the steps your dealership needs to complete to set up the integration and start accepting card payments through Blackpurl.

Setup Steps

Step 1: Sign Up with Ecrypt

Your dealership needs to sign up with Ecrypt directly. Complete the application at Blackpurl Credit Card Processing.

Step 2: Ecrypt Contacts Blackpurl

After receiving your application, Ecrypt will contact Blackpurl with your dealership's API credentials and ship the card terminal or terminals to your dealership.

Step 3: Connect the Terminal to Your Network

Once your terminal or terminals arrive, connect them to your network using the instructions supplied by Ecrypt.

Warning: Do not sync the terminals to the Ecrypt user interface.

Step 4: Contact Blackpurl Support

After connecting the terminal or terminals, contact the Blackpurl Support team by email or chat and provide the following information for each terminal:

  • Dealership name

  • Contact person

  • 6-character code displayed on the terminal screen

  • Name to assign to the terminal (for example, Parts Terminal or Service Terminal)

Step 5: Blackpurl Completes the Sync

Once Blackpurl Support has the information from Step 4, they will complete the syncing process and notify you when it is done.

Step 6: Configure Accounting Integration (If Applicable)

If your dealership uses accounting integration, complete the following after Blackpurl confirms the setup is done:

  • Blackpurl will automatically add Payment Type: Preferred Payment so that it appears as a payment option in your Deposit and Checkout sections.

  • Your dealership will need to assign the relevant Undeposited Funds General Ledger account to the Payment Type: Preferred Payment.
