Blackpurl lets you assign one or more salespersons to any customer order — whether it's a Unit Deal, a Parts & Accessories sale, or a Service Job. On Unit Deals, you can also record the commission earned to support full profitability reporting.
Before You Start
Set Up Salespersons
Before you can assign a salesperson to a customer order, that person must be added to the staff member list in System Settings.
1. Click your account icon in the Blackpurl header, then select Settings.
2. From the System Settings dashboard, click Users.
3. Open the Time Clocking tab and locate the Staff member list.
4. If the salesperson is not already listed, enter their First Name and Last Name in the Add a new staff member section, then click ADD.
The salesperson will now appear as an option when assigning salespersons on customer orders.
User Permission: Deal Commissions
To view or modify the Commission field on a Unit Deal customer order, users must have the Deal commissions user permission enabled. A dealership administrator can enable this in the user's permission settings.
Assigning a Salesperson on Customer Orders
The steps for assigning a salesperson are the same across Unit Deals, Parts & Accessories orders, and Service Jobs. The key difference is that commission amounts can only be recorded on Unit Deals.
Unit Deals
1. Open the Unit Deal customer order.
2. Click Assign salesperson and select the salesperson you want to assign.
3. To assign multiple salespersons, click Assign salesperson again and select another name.
4. In the Commission earned field, type the commission amount for the salesperson.
Adding a commission amount helps calculate the full profitability of the Unit Deal. For more information, see Customer Order Profitability.
Tip: If you assign the wrong salesperson, click Assign salesperson again and select the salesperson you want to remove.
Parts & Accessories
1. Open the Parts & Accessories customer order.
2. Click Assign salesperson and select the salesperson you want to assign.
3. To assign multiple salespersons, click Assign salesperson again and select another name.
The assigned salesperson appears in the Summary section of the order. Unlike a Unit Deal, no commission amount is recorded on Parts & Accessories orders.
Tip: If you assign the wrong salesperson, click Assign salesperson again and select the salesperson you want to remove.
Service or Repair Jobs
1. Open the Service Job customer order.
2. Click Assign salesperson and select the salesperson you want to assign.
3. To assign multiple salespersons, click Assign salesperson again and select another name.
The assigned salesperson appears in the Summary section of the Service Job. Unlike a Unit Deal, no commission amount is recorded on Service Jobs.
Tip: If you assign the wrong salesperson, click Assign salesperson again and select the salesperson you want to remove.
