The Workshop Dashboard gives your dealership a real-time view of every active Service Job from a single screen, accessible from any device. Use it to track job progress, see which technicians are currently clocked on, and keep customers informed without chasing down your workshop team.
What Is the Workshop Dashboard
The Workshop Dashboard displays all open Service Jobs that meet your filter criteria, showing at a glance how each job is progressing, which technicians are working on what, and how much allocated time remains.
A Service Job appears on the Workshop Dashboard when it meets one of the following conditions:
The Service Job is open (not in Completed or Invoiced status) and has a scheduled appointment tied to it that starts on or before today's date
The Service Job has hours logged entries recorded against it
Accessing the Workshop Dashboard
There are two ways to open the Workshop Dashboard.
Option 1 — via Reporting: In the Blackpurl header, navigate to Reporting > Workshop Dashboard.
Option 2 — via the Schedule: Open the Schedule and access the Workshop Dashboard directly from that screen.
Reviewing the Workshop Dashboard
The Workshop Dashboard displays all matching Service Jobs as individual tiles. The sections below explain each part of the screen.
A. Service Job Tiles
Each tile on the Workshop Dashboard represents one Service Job. The tiles shown are all open Service Jobs in your Blackpurl that match the active Job Type filter (B) and status filter (C).
Tiles with a green background indicate that a technician is currently job clocked onto that Service Job. These green tiles always appear first in the dashboard so you can immediately see which jobs are actively being worked on.
All other Service Job tiles are listed in alphabetical order by first name, then surname.
B. Job Type Filter
The Job Type filter controls which types of Service Jobs appear on the dashboard. Check or uncheck job types as needed to narrow or expand what is displayed. The list of available job types reflects the Service Job Types your dealership has configured in Blackpurl. The default setting shows All Job Types.
C. Status Filter
The status filter lets you further narrow the dashboard to show only Service Jobs with a specific status, such as Ready or New. Select the relevant radio button to apply the status you want to view. The default setting shows All Open Jobs.
D. Refresh and E. Exit
Click Refresh at any time to update the Workshop Dashboard with the latest data. The dashboard also refreshes automatically every 15 minutes. If you need a shorter refresh interval — for example, every 5 minutes — contact [email protected] and the team can make that adjustment for you.
When you are finished, click X to exit the Workshop Dashboard and return to Blackpurl.
