The Unit Register report gives dealerships a complete view of their unit inventory history — including how each unit was acquired, whether it is still in stock, and if sold, who purchased it and when. This article explains how to run the report and what each column means.

Running the Unit Register Report

To access the Unit Register report, navigate to Reporting in the Blackpurl header, then select Reports.

In the Reports section, go to Units > Unit Register.

The report opens and displays your unit data in a table. By default, the report shows all units stocked in during the last 30 days.

Adjusting Filters and Parameters

You can change the report's default filters at any time by clicking the dropdown arrow to expand the filter panel and updating the parameters. Examples of common adjustments include:

Tick the Include Consignment checkbox to include consignment units in the results.
Click the Stocked In Date field and select a different date range.
Use the filter field dropdown to filter by a different attribute — options include Make, Model, Submodel, and Year.

After changing any filters or parameters, click Apply to update the report results.

Default Columns Reference

The Unit Register report includes the following default columns. You can customise which columns are displayed by clicking the column selector and ticking or unticking the options available.

Type	Displays the unit icon for all units in the report.
Stock Number	The stock number from the Unit Record. For consignment units, this is the unit ID if you have elected to include consignments.
VIN / SN	The VIN or Serial Number recorded on the Unit Record. For consignment units, this is the unit ID.
Unit Description	The full unit description made up of Make, Model, Sub Model, Year, and Colour.
Plate Number	The plate number recorded on the Unit Record, if one exists. For consignment units, this is the unit ID.
Date Stocked In	The date the unit entered stock. For purchased units, this is the Vendor Invoice date. For trade-ins, it is the date the trade-in was stocked in from a Customer Order. For consignment units, the Date Stocked In and Date Stocked Out are the same — the date the unit was sold on a Customer Order.
How Acquired	How the unit entered your inventory: Trade In (traded in on a Customer Order), Consignment (selling on behalf of a customer), Purchased (through Unit Ordering), or Add Unit (via Add New > Stocked Unit — this method is never recommended).
Reference Number	The reference associated with acquisition. Trade-ins reference the Customer Order where the unit was traded in. Consignments reference the Customer Order where the unit was acquired and sold. Purchased units reference the Vendor Invoice Number. Units added via the Add Unit method show Unknown because Blackpurl has no record of the source.
Acquired From	Who the unit came from. Trade-ins show the customer who traded it in. Consignments show the customer who consigned the unit. Purchased units show the Vendor. Units added via the Add Unit method show Unknown.
Status	The current status of the unit: Available (the unit is available for sale), Reserved (committed to an open Customer Order), or Sold (the Customer Order Unit Deal has been closed out and invoiced).
Date Stocked Out	The date the unit left stock — specifically the date the Customer Order was closed out and invoiced. For consignment units, this is the same date as Date Stocked In.
Sale Number	The Customer Order number if the unit was sold.
Sold To	The customer name the unit was sold to, if applicable.
