Running the Tax Detail Report

Navigate to the Tax Detail Report by going to Reporting in the Blackpurl header, then selecting Reports - Tax Detail.

When the report opens, it loads with a default set of parameters: the previous month's date range, all tax types selected, all taxes ticked, and Exclude Internal Invoices checked. Review these defaults and adjust them to suit your requirements before running the report.

Setting Report Parameters

Adjust the filters to match what you need. For example, to view selling taxes only for February 2023, change the Date Range to 1 February 2023 – 28 February 2023 and set Tax Type to Selling only. Once you have finished adjusting your parameters, click Apply to load the results.

Tip: You can select a date range of up to 3 months to support quarterly reporting.

Working with Results

After applying your parameters, the report loads with results matching your filters. From the results screen you can customize columns, view tax totals, and export or print the report.

Customizing Columns

Click the column selector to choose which columns appear in your results. For example, you can add the Contents column, which summarizes the contents of each invoice — for deal invoices, this includes the stock numbers of the units sold.

Viewing Tax Totals

Click Totals to see a summary of each tax that has been used, including the total taxable amount and the total tax collected. For example, for a 7% tax rate, you might see a taxable amount of $665.58 with $19.97 in tax on that amount.

Exporting or Printing

Click Export / Print to generate a preview of the report. The exported report lists each tax name with its relevant transactions and totals.

Saving the Report

If you are happy with your report settings, save the report so you can reuse it. Click Save As, give the report a name, and it will be available in the Custom Search section the next time you need it.
