BP2CO: Create a Customer Order

To create a customer order simply select the Sell or New Sale action either from the top navigation bar

or a number of the workspace list views.

Create Customer Order Screen

The create screen is the first step in starting any new sale in Blackpurl. This is where you can select a customer, choose a transaction type, or do both in either order.

All transaction types except for Parts & Accessories CASH SALE and Create Inventory Service job require you select a customer in order to proceed with the creation of the customer order.

Select Customer

The customer search field at the top of the create screen works the same as the customer search used elsewhere in Blackpurl, with an updated layout. Use it to find an existing customer.

Create Customer

If the customer you want does not already exist you can use the New Customer action to create a new customer.

Choose a Transaction Type

The lower section of the create screen has tiles for the different types of transactions you can create. The primary transaction types are Parts Sale, Service Job and Unit Sale. Only the transaction types for which you have the required permission will be available to you.

Parts Sales

This tile allows you to create a parts and merchandise sale which by default will require that you also select a customer before proceeding. Unless you select the Parts & Accessories CASH SALE option which is for simple cash sales only.

Service Jobs

This tile allows you to create a customer related service job which by default will require that you also select a customer before proceeding. Unless you select the Create Inventory Service Job option which is only used for service jobs on inventory units.

Unit Sale

This tile allows you to create a unit sale (deal) which by will by default require that you also select a customer before proceeding. Unless you select the Create Unit Sale from CRM (if available) which has its own workflow for interacting with your CRM application.

Active Orders for This Customer

When you select a customer and a transaction type that requires one, we'll check to see if there are any open customer orders for the selected customer and if any are found they will be presented to you.

Here you have three options:

  • Use a Go to button beside any of the listed orders and you will be navigate to it instead of creating a new customer order

  • Use the Skip button which will proceed with creating a new customer order

  • Use the Cancel action to end the process of creating a new customer order which will close the create screen
