The Deal Unit Pricing Section

The pricing section for a deal unit appears directly below the unit information and is always visible. It first gives you a summary breakdown of the total price.

Below this are the individual values that make up the units price. There are 3 types of values that can appear here:

  • Base Unit Price

  • Listing of Factory Installed Options

  • Listing of Dealer installed options

Here you will find the editable Base Unit price and any associated controls such as Locking in the pricing or Ride away pricing for some regions. Any changes made here will only apply to the deal on not the unit record itself.

Next any Factory Installed Options on the unit record are listed and you are given the ability to override the price being charged to the customer on the deal. Any changes made here will only apply to the deal on not the unit record itself.

Lastly are any Dealer Installed Options on the unit record are listed and you are given the ability to override the price being charged to the customer on the deal. Any changes made here will only apply to the deal on not the unit record itself.

What Are Dealer Installed Options

Dealer Installed Options are parts, services, or labor items that have been added to a stocked unit through a finalized Internal Service Job. Examples include a replacement muffler, new brake pads, or the labor to install them.

Because these items increase the cost of the unit, they need to be reflected in the selling price. If the selling price is not adjusted to recover the cost of Dealer Installed Options, the profitability on that unit will be reduced.

When you add a stocked unit to a Customer Order Unit Deal, any Dealer Installed Options associated with that unit automatically appear as part of the pricing breakdown. The cost and selling price on the unit record have already been updated to reflect those additions.

Adjust or Zero Out a Dealer Installed Option

If you do not want to charge the customer for a specific Dealer Installed Option, you can set its price to zero in the deal unit pricing section. To do this:

Zeroing out a Dealer Installed Option reduces the price shown in the Dealer Installed Options field on the deal. Be aware that this also reduces the profitability calculated on that unit.

Dealer Installed Options on Printed Documents

Dealer Installed Options appear on the Bill of Sale and the Offer to Purchase when you print either document from the Customer Order. If the price of a Dealer Installed Option is zero, that particular option will not appear on the document generated.

Dealer Installed Options and Profitability

In Customer Order Profitability, the full cost of all Dealer Installed Options is always included regardless of what was zeroed out on the Unit Deal. Zeroing out an option affects the price charged to the customer but does not remove the cost from the profitability calculation.
