Barcode label printing in Blackpurl lets your dealership print labels for Part Records, attach them to parts or shelf locations, and scan them directly into a Customer Order. This article explains how the feature works and where to access it.

Barcode label printing lets dealerships print labels for Part Records directly from Blackpurl. Once a label is attached to a part or its shelf location, you can scan the barcode into the Search to Add field on a Customer Order — for example, in the Parts & Accessories section — instead of searching manually.

There are two places in Blackpurl where you can print barcode labels: Vendor Receiving and Part Records.
​

When processing a Vendor Receiving, you can print barcode labels for the parts being received.
​

1. Open the relevant Vendor Receiving record and click Actions, then select Print barcode labels.
​

​2. The Print Barcode Labels window opens. It lists the parts on the Vendor Receiving, including both stock items and Customer Special Order parts.
​

3. For any item you do not want to print a label for, uncheck the checkbox on that line.
​

4. Stock labels default to the quantity being received. Adjust the quantity for each line as needed.
​

5. Click Print Labels to send the labels to your label printer.
​

Stock labels include the Part Number, Part Description, dealership name, price (depending on your system setting — see Prices on Barcode Labels below), and the shelf location if one has been assigned to the Part Record.

Labels printed for Customer Special Order parts include the part details, the relevant Customer Order number, and the customer's name, along with the transaction type (parts sales). This lets you attach the label to the special-ordered part so it's clearly identified as belonging to a specific Customer Order.

You can also print individual barcode labels from any Part Records screen.

1. Navigate to the relevant Part Records screen and click Actions, then select Print Barcode Label.
​

2. The Print barcode labels window opens, showing a quantity field and a preview of the label. Confirm the quantity required and click Print Labels to print.

The default label includes the following information:

A system setting controls whether the part price prints on barcode labels. To change this setting, go to System Settings > Settings and Controls > Shop Settings > Include prices on part labels and enable or disable the toggle.
