What Payroll Clocking Is For
Payroll Clocking in Blackpurl was introduced specifically to calculate Productivity for your Technicians. To calculate productivity, Blackpurl needs to know how many hours a Technician is available for work — this data is captured when the Technician clocks in and out using the Payroll Clocking feature.
Payroll Clocking does not integrate with your dealership's external payroll program at any point.
Using Payroll Clocking for Other Staff
Payroll Clocking is not limited to Technicians. Some dealerships use it for all staff to track hours worked. However, the data will never integrate with an external payroll program regardless of who is clocking in.
To enable this for non-Technician staff, each relevant staff member must be set up as a Time Clocking Staff (non-Technician) under System Settings > Users - Time Clocking Staff.
For setup instructions, see Payroll Clocking and Job Clocking Setup (no longer available).
Once set up, Time Clocking Staff will be required to clock in and out of Blackpurl using Payroll Clocking. For instructions on how staff do this, see Payroll Clocking ON / OFF (no longer available).
Managing Payroll Clocking
A manager should review Payroll Clocking records regularly to ensure the data is accurate. If corrections are needed, see How to Manage Payroll Clocking (no longer available).
Reporting on Payroll Clocking Data
If your dealership wants to use Payroll Clocking data to process payroll, you can print the Payroll Hours Report for the relevant date range and then process it manually through your payroll program. For instructions on running this report, see Reporting - Technician Performance / Technician Hours / Payroll Hours (Technician Productivity Reports) (no longer available).
