Payroll Clock On and Off

Clock staff in and out of Payroll Clocking in Blackpurl, and understand what happens when a clock-off is missed.

Payroll Clocking lets you track when staff members start and finish their working day. This article explains how to clock a staff member on and off once Payroll Clocking has been set up.

Before You Start

Staff must be configured as Time Clocking Staff before they can use Payroll Clocking. If this setup has not been completed, see Set Up Payroll Clocking and Job Clocking before continuing.

How to Payroll Clock On and Off

Once the initial setup is complete, follow these steps to clock a staff member on or off.

1. In the Blackpurl header, click the Time Clocking icon to open the Payroll Clocking interface.

Shows the Payroll time clocking interface with a black header containing 'Payroll time clocking' title on the left, TIME

2. To clock a staff member on, navigate to the relevant user, go to Payroll Clock On, and move the toggle to ON. This starts the Payroll Clock for that user.

3. To clock a staff member off, navigate to the relevant user and move the toggle to OFF. This ends the Payroll Clock for that user.

Additional Information

If a technician forgets to Payroll Clock off, the system will automatically clock them off at midnight. The person managing Payroll Clocking will then need to review and amend that entry to show the correct clock-off time for the day.

If any Payroll Clocking entries need to be corrected or adjusted, see Manage Payroll Clocking.
