Set Up a Zebra Label Printer on macOS

How to install the Zebra printer driver and Zebra Browser Print application on a macOS computer for label printing.

This article covers how to install and configure a Zebra label printer on a macOS computer. The setup involves three stages: installing the printer driver, installing the Zebra Browser Print application, and configuring Browser Print to use your printer.

Step 1: Download and Install the Zebra Printer Driver

The Zebra printer driver for macOS is available through a third-party download page. You may be asked to enter your name and email address to access the download.

1. Go to https://www.peninsula-group.com/mac-thermal-printer-driver/download-thermal-driver.html and download the latest Peninsula Thermal Driver.

2. Double-click the downloaded .dmg file to open the installer window.

Your Zebra printer is now calibrated and available for printing labels on macOS.

Step 2: Install Zebra Browser Print on macOS

Zebra Browser Print enables your web browser to communicate with the Zebra printer. You need to request the download from Zebra's website before installing.

1. Go to Zebra Browser Print Request and fill in the required details to download the installer.

2. Double-click the BrowserPrint-1.2.1.279.dmg installer file to run it and follow the initial setup steps.

3. Drag the Browser Print application into the Applications folder.

4. Open the Applications folder and double-click Browser Print to launch it.

5. When the End User License Agreement appears, click I Agree.

6. A pop-up about browser communication will appear and the security certificate will open in your web browser. Click OK.

Step 3: Configure Browser Print

Once Browser Print is running, you need to set your Zebra printer as the default device so that labels print correctly.

1. Click the Zebra logo icon in the menu bar and select Settings.

2. In the Browser Print Settings window, click the Change button next to the default device. A dropdown of all discoverable devices will appear.
