Set Up Automatic Linked Fees

Learn what automatic Linked Fees are and how to configure them to generate automatically on Customer Orders in Blackpurl.

Automatic Linked Fees are fees that Blackpurl adds to Customer Orders without manual entry. This article explains what Linked Fees are and walks through how to set them up for Deals, Service Jobs, and Merchandise transactions.

What Are Automatic Linked Fees?

Linked Fees are fees configured to charge automatically on specific types of Customer Orders. Common examples include:

  • Customer Order Deals — licence fees, registration fees, or document fees added automatically to Unit Deals

  • Customer Order Merchandise — environment fees or shopping bag fees added to Parts & Accessories transactions

  • Customer Order Service Jobs — a fixed Shop Supplies fee added to every Service Job

Automatic Linked Fees do not generate on Cash Sale transactions.

Before You Start

A fee must already exist in Blackpurl before it can be linked. If you haven't created the fee yet, see Create and Edit Fees before continuing.
