The Notes for Customer drawer gives you a single, centralized place to view, add, and manage all notes for customer across every transaction on a Customer Order. Open it from the drawer icon bar on the right side of the Customer Order screen.
Drawer Icon Indicator
The Notes for Customer drawer is represented by an icon in the drawer listing. When the icon includes a red dot this means that the drawer contains notes that have been entered for a transaction on the customer order.
Viewing the Notes for Customer Drawer
Opening the Notes for Customer drawer shows a list of all notes entered across every section of the CO. Notes are sorted in the same order as the primary tabs: Unit Deal first, Service jobs next, then Parts & Accessories.
Each note card identifies which section it belongs to.
Notes are formatted the same way they appear inside their source section.
When no notes have been added to any section, the drawer shows an empty state.
Expand and Collapse Notes
Icons are provided which allow you to expand or collapse the detailed notes.

Add a Note
To add a new Note for Customer, select Compose Note in the header of the drawer. This opens the Compose Note modal.
In the Apply To field, select which CO section the note applies to. The field auto-populates based on the section you were viewing when you opened the drawer. If you were in a section that does not accept notes, it defaults to the first eligible section on the CO.
Enter the note text in the note field. The note saves automatically as you type; a saving indicator in the modal confirms when the note has been saved.
If the CO has only one section that accepts notes, the Apply To field is pre-populated and cannot be changed.
Edit a Note
To edit an existing note on an open Customer Order, click anywhere on an expanded note card. The Edit Note modal opens with the current note text. Update the text and the note saves automatically. The Apply To section cannot be changed when editing an existing note.
Delete a Note
To delete a note on an open Customer Order, expand the note card and select the More options icon (three-dot menu) on the card. Select Delete to remove the note.
Where Notes Print
Notes for Customer print directly on the relevant customer-facing documents for each transaction. A note on a Unit Deal appears on the Bill of Sale and invoice. A note on a Service Job appears on the service invoice. Notes for Customer are visible to the customer — do not use this field for internal team notes.
For notes that should never appear on customer documents, use the Internal Notes drawer instead. See [Internal Notes on a Customer Order].
