Blackpurl does not allow you to delete Part, Vendor, or Customer records — instead, records are marked as inactive. This article explains how to find those inactive records through Reporting and, if needed, make them active again.
Inactive Part Records
To find an inactive Part Record, run a Recent Parts report with the correct parameters so inactive parts are included in the results.
1. Navigate to Reporting and run a Recent Parts report.
2. Change the report parameters by clicking Change Parameters.
3. In the Contains field, type the part number.
4. Change the Modified field to Anytime.
5. Make sure the Include Inactive checkbox is checked.
6. Run the report.
The search results will list every part that matches the criteria. If multiple parts appear, check the Active column to identify which records are active and which are inactive.
Once you find the inactive part, click its blue Part Number to open the Part Record.
You can review the inactive Part Record without making any changes. To reactivate the part, click EDIT, make sure the Active checkbox is checked, then save the record.
The part is now active again.
Inactive Vendor Records
To find an inactive Vendor Record, run a Vendors report with the correct parameters so inactive vendors are included in the results.
1. Navigate to Reporting and run a Vendors report.
2. Change the report parameters by clicking Change Parameters.
3. In the Contains field, type the vendor name.
4. Make sure the Include Inactive checkbox is checked.
5. Run the report.
The search results will list every vendor that matches the criteria. If multiple vendors appear, check the Active column to identify which records are active and which are inactive.
Once you find the inactive vendor, click its blue Vendor Code to open the Vendor Record.
You can review the inactive Vendor Record without making any changes. To reactivate the vendor, click EDIT, make sure the Active toggle is set to YES, then save the record.
The vendor is now active again.
Inactive Customer Records
To find an inactive Customer Record, run a Customers report with the correct parameters so inactive customers are included in the results.
1. Navigate to Reporting and run a Customers report.
2. Change the report parameters by clicking Change Parameters.
3. In the Contains field, type the customer's name.
4. Make sure the Include Inactive checkbox is checked.
5. Run the report.
The search results will list every customer that matches the criteria. If multiple customers appear, check the Active column to identify which records are active and which are inactive.
Once you find the inactive customer, click their blue Customer Number to open the Customer Record.
You can review the inactive Customer Record without making any changes. To reactivate the customer, click EDIT, make sure the Active toggle is set to YES, then save the record.
The customer is now active again.
